Hello everybody?

My name is Ko Jun, a first grader in middle school.

In Chuncheon, where I live, there is an Ethiopian road.

And there is a Korean War Memorial built to thank Ethiopia for its participation as a member of the UN forces during the Korean War.

Ethiopia also had an experience of asking the international community for help when it was invaded by Italy, but no one helped.

So, we sent troops without turning a blind eye to the difficulties facing our country.

It is said that Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia said this when he sent Ganguine troops.

"Go away! Don't think about coming back alive, but go there and fight hard and die!"

Perhaps that's why the Kagnew Unit fought 253 battles, large and small, and never lost a single battle.

In addition, even during that difficult time, I heard that there was a shortage of food at the "Bohwa Orphanage", and the members of the Kang New Unit saved food and money and sponsored it.

It is the northeastern front near Chuncheon where this wonderful Guanyu unit played an active role.

 

Thank you and memories continue until now to Ethiopia for protecting the Republic of Korea as a proud member of the UN forces.

Several organizations have formed a sisterhood alliance with Ethiopia to conduct scholarship projects and medical support projects.

I, too, am practicing the act of appreciation that I can do.

We also introduce the Ethiopian Korean War Veterans Memorial to our friends living in other regions and inform them about the activities and history of Ethiopian veterans during the Korean War.

And I go to the sites of independence movement and veterans in Chuncheon area with my friends and do plogging.

And I'm also making a history map because I want to leave the result.

This is the map.

Just as we can now enjoy happiness with the help of Ethiopian veterans when I become an adult, I will do something to help our descendants make a happy Ethiopia.
